HORNSEA TOWN COUNCIL – EDENFIELD AND SOUTGATE CEMETERIES AND ST NICHOLAS CHURCH YARD
Burial deed owners are responsible for the safety and maintenance of each individual memorial and may be contacted and asked to carry out repair work if required. If you wish to discuss this matter further or need any additional information please contact the Town Clerk – 01964 532252 or email clerk@hornsea.gov.uk.
In addition, the 2023 grass cutting season is underway in Hornsea – including in the cemeteries and church yard. Hornsea Town Council respectfully asks all burial deed holders to ensure that all vases etc are placed within the curtilage of the memorial concrete base and not in/on the surrounding grass/burial plot. The Town Council cannot be held responsible for damage caused to any item away from the main memorial stone – some small items, particularly glass and ceramics, may be removed from grass cutting areas to safeguard grass cutting staff and other visitors in line with the Hornsea Town Council rules and regulations for Proper Management of Cemeteries (copy available on request). Any items removed will be safely and respectfully stored for collection. Again, if you have any questions in relation to this matter please contact the Town Clerk.
